Eric Schuchmann

       eric and lillyA native of St. Peters, Missouri, Eric spent his youth playing guitar in bands and chasing the “rock ‘n’ roll” dream. Eric moved to Springfield, Missouri, in 2002 to attend Missouri State University. He began working as an intern for Lou Whitney at The Studio in 2004. As an intern for Lou, Eric learned the experience of recording, mixing, producing, and music arrangement. Eric received a Bachelor of Science in Audio Recording in 2008, and then became a staff engineer at The Studio. Under Lou’s guidance, Eric worked on hundreds of projects.

Since Lou’s passing in October 2014, Eric Schuchmann with the help of Mark Bilyeu have been running the daily operations. As of July 1, 2015 The Studio     Springfield owned by Eric Schuchmann is now in business at 328 South Avenue using the same great gear and the same great rooms.


Eric is also a live audio engineer. He began working for his high school auditorium, mixing jazz, choir and orchestra concerts as well as theatre productions. During college, Eric started working in downtown bars running sound for local and regional bands. In 2004, Eric began freelancing as an audio engineer for several audio companies such as Big Rigs, Creative Sound, Sound Farm, and a number of local and touring acts. Eric has done a handful of national tours working for The Morells, Bel-Airs, Domino Kings, Brian Capps, and Mary McBride.
